FAQ

  • When can I schedule my appointment?

I schedule appointments between 10am-3pm Monday-Thursday. All appointments are virtual for your scheduling convenience.

As a reminder though, you must be in a confidential space where you have the privacy to not be overheard. This can include a parked car - sessions while driving are not permitted for safety reasons.

  • What do you charge?

My fee is $125 per 50 minute session for individuals and $150 per 50 minute session for couples. I do not accept insurance at this time.

  • How do I pay?

I accept credit/debit card payments through my practice payment portal. All payment details are encrypted and secure, and I do not have your full payment details for your privacy and protection.

  • Do I have to live in California?

Yes. I am currently licensed to practice in California which means all of my clients must reside in California AND be physically present in California during our sessions. The good news is that I can help you anywhere in California, it doesn't matter if you're in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles or San Diego. I will always confirm your location at the beginning of the session for safety reasons.

As I expand into other states I will update the website to reflect the new changes.

  • Why should I see a therapist, can't I just talk to friends and family?

Friends and family are great support systems and can be very important relationships to cultivate, and that's great that you feel safe confiding in them! However, friends and family have personal relationships with you that may make it difficult to get impartial feedback or for you to feel completely comfortable to be open about how you are feeling. These are also the relationships that you may be struggling with directly. Your therapist provides a unique space for you to work through any issues with someone who has professional training and can be a third party who is unbiased about your life. Your therapist has no other agenda than to help you achieve your goals in a setting that is all about you.

  • Do you prescribe medication?

No, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, I cannot prescribe medication. Prescribing requires different licensure such as a Medical Doctor or a Nurse Practitioner. However, if you are interested in learning more about including medication as part of treatment, we can discuss how to get you connected with an appropriate provider and I can consult with them as part of your mental health treatment team.
